Google is bringing Android apps and the Google Play store to Chrome OS
The keynote for Google I/O 2016 was jam-packed with exciting announcements and unexpected reveals, but even with two hours at their disposal, the executives and developers at Google still weren’t able to share everything.
One huge announcement that didn’t make the cut: Google Play and Android apps are coming to Chrome OS later this year.

Think Google Daydream is cool? This VR amusement park puts you inside a video game
Google’s new Android-based virtual reality platform Daydream is likely a step in the right direction, as it’ll help the VR ecosystem grow in the coming years. But the VR experience Google demoed on stage during its I/O 2016 keynote, as impressive it may be, isn’t the kind of VR I’m looking for. However, there’s a company out there that’s building the first ever 5D amusement park that’ll deliver a virtual experience ready to take over all your senses.

Interview: Son of Spock actor Leonard Nimoy making doc about his dad
In a November 2015 episode of The Big Bang Theory — “The Spock Resonance” — Jim Parsons’ character Sheldon can be seen at one point addressing a video recorder and professing his respect for the half-human, half-Vulcan officer so essential to the Star Trek franchise.
The moment is a typical bit of Sheldon uber-geekery. He’s giving a brief interview to a documentarian during the episode, and we learn, for example, how as a child Sheldon decided to tweak his mother’s constant admonition of “What would Jesus do?” to “What would Spock do?”
The man holding in the camera in the scene — we see him address Parsons’ character briefly — is Adam Nimoy. His late father Leonard was of course the actor who made the role of Spock so iconic and such a staple of pop culture that even 50 years after the first episode of Star Trek aired on NBC in 1966, the pointy-eared, emotionally detached character still feels as familiar and resonant as ever.
There’s another reason Nimoy’s son was on the The Big Bang Theory set that day. He’s putting the final touches on a documentary he plans to release later this year called For the Love of Spock, in honor of his father, who died in February 2015. And it seemed fitting, Nimoy tells BGR, to include along with a host of remembrances, show clips and more an “interview” in his film with a Star Trek-loving character on one of the most popular TV shows today.

Noted Apple critic Donald Trump secretly holds $1 million in stock
Donald Trump spent a large part of February bashing Apple over its battle with the FBI, and called for a boycott of Apple “until such time as they give that security number.”

Seth Rogen just made an amazing parody of AMC’s ‘Preacher’ trailer
One of the more intriguing and highly anticipated new TV shows of the summer is AMC’s The Preacher. Set to premiere this coming Sunday, the show follows former criminal Jesse Custer (played by Dominic Cooper) who, in an effort to get his life back on track, returns to his Texas hometown to become a preacher.
And from there, the insanity begins.
For those unfamiliar with the title, the series is based on the Preacher comic book series which ran from 1995-2000. Developed by Evan Goldberg, Seth Rogen and Sam Catlin, AMC has been promoting the series hard in recent weeks. Commercials for the show are plentiful and AMC just this week released video of the first four minutes of the first episode.

How I added microSD support to my iPhone 6s
If history is any indication, Apple has no plans of addressing iPhone owners’ two biggest complaints anytime soon. The first is always battery life, but Apple clearly values design aesthetics enough to prevent it from making a thicker iPhone with a larger battery. And as bad as the iPhone’s battery life can be, it certainly doesn’t seem to be hurting sales — despite the recent dip, iPhones are still the best-selling smartphones in the world.
Coming in closely behind battery life is the lack of expandable storage. iPhones are some of the most expensive smartphones in the world but Apple still insists on “encouraging” users to buy more expensive models; 16GB gets you nowhere and it’s only another $100 for 64GB. You could shell out more money for a bigger iPhone, or you could add microSD card support to your current iPhone in just a few seconds like I just did.

Batman v Superman’s critical failure might save the DC movie universe
Despite raking in more than $800 million dollars over the past month and a half, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice still has to be considered a failure on some level for Warner Bros. and DC.
It dipped below 30% on Rotten Tomatoes just days after release and never recovered. It spawned more arguments between DC and Marvel fans than it did thoughtful or entertaining discussion about the future of the DC Extended Universe. In general, it just left a bad taste in the mouth of the general public.
So how could any of this possibly be a good thing?
