World’s top Apple insider claims 2019 iPhones will feature new antenna technology
Every year, when Apple introduces its new iPhone lineup, the company naturally focuses on forward-facing features that make for strong selling points. So whether it’s a brand new display or a much-improved camera, Apple hones in on certain features that, taken together, tend to make a compelling case for users to upgrade. At the same time, new iPhone models invariably feature a bevy of behind-the-scenes improvements that improve the overall user experience. And sometimes, new iPhones include new technology that ultimately helps bolster Apple’s bottom line.
To this point, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo is out with yet another research note regarding Apple’s 2019 iPhone lineup. In a note originally obtained from AppleInsider, Kuo articulates that Apple’s iPhone models will incorporate MPI antenna technology as opposed to Liquid Crystal Polymer (LCP) antenna technology exclusively.

The Sun accidentally blew up a bunch of lost sea bombs in 1972
Without the Sun, none of us would actually be here, so we should be pretty thankful that it exists at all. That being said, tumbling through space around a star isn’t always a walk in the park, especially when that star has a temper.
Every once in a while, the Sun gets restless and spews solar material out into space at incredibly high speeds. These events, coronal mass ejections, follow solar flares and result in what we experience on Earth as a solar storm. As LiveScience reports, a new investigation into a particularly brutal solar storm back in 1972 has revealed just how devastating such an event can be, and explains how that particular event had explosive consequences here on Earth.

New AirPods are ‘definitely’ coming this year, according to one leaker
Apple’s AirPower wireless charger that’s meant to simultaneously charge the iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods is still not ready, which is why Apple never mentioned it during its iPhone and iPad press events.
As a result, the AirPods 2 upgrade, meant to bring over a new AirPods case that can be recharged wirelessly, is still unofficial, although we saw a few reports lately that suggested a launch is imminent. A new rumor from a trustworthy insider also says the new AirPods are set to arrive this year.

Take $120 out of your cable company’s pocket every single year with one $45 purchase
Cable companies charge so much for internet service, it’s borderline obscene. Police claim woman remotely wiped her iPhone after it was taken into evidence
With all of the data we keep on our smartphones these days, it’s no surprise that devices like the iPhone have become increasingly useful pieces of evidence in police investigations. After all, poring through a suspect’s smartphone can often give investigators insight into pertinent contacts, accomplices, along with information as to how certain crimes were planned and carried out.
In light of that, a New York woman named Juelle L. Grant — whose iPhone X was taken in as a piece of evidence in a drive-by shooting investigation — recently managed to frustrate law enforcement authorities by wiping her device remotely. While iOS users have long been able to wipe their devices, this functionality was obviously designed for folks with lost or stolen phones. As it turns out, it can also be used to destroy potentially incriminating evidence.

These jetpack pilots are somehow even more insane than the last time we saw them
Incredibly brave and remarkably skilled, adrenaline junkies in Dubai have been flying personal jetpacks for a while now. The “Jetman” vehicles they pilot are capable of some amazing feats, such as flying alongside passenger jets and performing other dangerous stunts. Now, their story is the subject of a documentary that shows them pushing the envelope to the nth degree.
The new feature-length documentary is called LOFT: The Jetman Story, and XDubai just released a fantastic teaser trailer (and in 4K no less) showing a glimpse at what you can expect from the final product. It’s wild.

Before his death at age 95, Stan Lee told me he wanted to be most remembered for Spider-Man
The last few years of Marvel’s legendary writer, editor and publisher were certainly tough. Before his death, confirmed today, at age 95, Stan Lee had been embroiled in nasty litigation and other unpleasant matters related to his personal affairs. He also lost his beloved wife of 69 years, Joan, who died in 2017. Before all of that had really begun in earnest, though, I got a chance to talk to Stan about his career, and among the highlights he shared with me: No way did he want to slow down, never mind that he was in his 90s.
He was hard of hearing, so you had to repeat most of your questions at least once, but he gave as good as he got. I asked about his creative habits, for example, if he was like the kind of artist you imagine who’s constantly scribbling down ideas in a notebook. “I do NOT scribble,” he snapped back in that thick accent. “I have beautiful penmanship.”
Stan, who news reports say died this morning at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, also told me that for everything he’s done since starting in the business in 1939 — creating or co-creating everything from The Mighty Thor to Iron Man, The Fantastic Four and so much else — he most wanted to be remembered for the creation of Spider-Man.
