A new survey of a little more than 2,000 US consumers from buyback site Decluttr has turned up several interesting holiday-related retail trends, such as how tons of us are apparently going to way overspend on new tech and gadgets in the weeks to come. But by the time the holiday season is over, the survey’s findings also show, some 66 million Americans are also going to find they’ve gone into debt. Yikes.

Just in time for the holidays, the app that used to be everybody’s favorite photo-sharing service has expanded its feature set yet again, with new additions that don’t have anything to do with sharing images with your friends.

Then again, this is in keeping with the way things have been going at Instagram for a while now. We recently got IGTV: A kind of YouTube alternative and a place where we can watch longer form video content within the app. It scratches the same itch, albeit in a slightly different way, as Instagram’s super-popular disappearing Stories feature. Over the past few days, we’ve been inundated with reports surrounding what appears to be a lower than expected demand for the iPhone XR. Indeed, a number of investment firms have slightly lowered their price targets for Apple shares amidst reports that Apple recently reduced orders for iPhone XR components from suppliers. Bolstering this aura of pessimism around the iPhone XR are reports that some of Apple’s supply partners are anticipating less revenue for the quarter than initially expected.

Consequently, shares of Apple have taken quite a tumble over the past few days. Though the stock was trading at around $232 early last month, shares are now trading in the $191 range. Notably, we’ve seen this story play out many times before in the past. Specifically, we’ve seen how putting too much of an emphasis on supply chain reports can often paint an inaccurate picture regarding the current state of Apple’s business. The reason behind this is that Apple’s supply chain is far more vast and a tad more complex than other companies, if only due to the sheer scale that Apple operates on.

While Google matched Apple will two premium smartphone models in 2018, Apple managed to undercut its rival with the $750 iPhone XR, which came in $50 cheaper than the cheapest Pixel 3 model. That may change soon though, as Russian tech blog Rozetked on Friday shared images and a hands-on preview of what it purports to be a Pixel 3 Lite — the long-rumored budget model of Google’s latest line of flagship phones.

According to Rozetked, the Pixel 3 Lite will feature a 5.56-inch IPS display with a resolution of 2220 x 1080, an 8-core Snapdragon 670 CPU, Adreno 615 GPU, 4GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, and no microSD card slot. The Lite will also be equipped with a 12-megapixel rear camera and 8-megapixel front camera.

Following the outsized success of the NES Classic Edition and SNES Classic Edition, it’s no surprise that Nintendo fans naturally assumed that a miniature Nintendo 64 must be in the works. After all, Sony was preparing to release its own PlayStation Classic in time for the 2018 holiday season — would Nintendo really let Sony brings its mini console to market unchallenged? Unfortunately, it appears that the answer is a resounding “yes.”

Speaking with Kotaku’s Stephen Totilo in an interview this week, Nintendo of America CEO Reggie Fils-Aimé revealed that there are currently no plans to develop an N64 Classic Edition. “I would not ever rule something out,” he insisted, “but what I can tell you is certainly that’s not in our planning horizon.”
