Apple is no longer the biggest company in the world by market cap
Over the past few years, Apple shares have been known to fluctuate wildly and seemingly without explanation from time to time. Still, the roller coaster Apple shares have taken investors on in recent months has arguably been unprecedented. Suffice it to say, investing in Apple is most definitely not for the faint of heart.
Less than four months ago, Apple shares were flying high. In early August, Apple shares topped $207 share, and thus made Apple the first trillion-dollar company in history. Following that, Apple shares continued to rise to newfound heights. Just seven weeks ago, Apple was trading at more than $231 a share.

Researchers in Japan eye flammable ice as a new form of energy
The future of energy remains an interesting and open-ended question, and Japan, interestingly enough, may play a pivotal role in how that future shakes out. More than a decade ago, scientists in Japan discovered an energy resource that may prove to be incredibly useful in the future, and we’re not talking about oil. Quite the opposite, we’re talking about flammable ice.
As noted by the BBC, the government in Japan is currently exploring the feasibility of using flammable ice as a common energy source. As the name alludes to, flammable ice is essentially a deposit of methane and frozen water. At a quick glance, the substance certainly looks like ice, but because of its chemical make-up,it will catch on fire if you take a match to it.

Samsung just debuted a stunning white Galaxy Note 9, but you can’t have it
Both Apple and Samsung abandoned the solid white color scheme for their flagship phones years ago, but it looks like Samsung is bringing the sleek look back for its latest oversized handset. After being teased earlier this week, the “First Snow White” Galaxy Note 9 was officially announced on Friday. SamMobile reports that the name is meant to commemorate the first snowfall of the year in Taiwan… which brings us to the bad news.
Samsung confirmed the existence of the white Note 9 on Friday, but only announced availability for Taiwan. It’s not clear if or when the colorway will ever be sold in other territories, including the United States. All hope is not lost — color options have been ported to the US in the past — but that’s all we know for now.

Chemo-free cancer treatment could exploit our body’s natural cell recycling system
If you are diagnosed with cancer today there are often several treatment options, with your doctor forming a plan of attack that will feature multiple approaches. Chemotherapy is one of the most popular weapons against cancer, but new research suggests it may be possible to get chemo-like results without actually putting a patient through a chemotherapy routine.
In a new paper published in Nature Communications, scientists discuss the possibility of using the natural “kill code” of human cells to fight tumors. That code, which is used by our body to recycle cells and kills them off when they are old, isn’t used by cancer cells and that allows the bad cells to fester and spread.

Wireless home security cameras with 2-year battery life are among Black Friday’s best deals
We’re big fans of Arlo home security cameras here on the BGR Deals team, but times they are a-changin. Arlo still offers a terrific user experience and great features, but they’re wildly expensive even on sale and there are much less expensive options these days. On top of that, Arlo cameras only last 2 or 3 months per charge, which means having to go around and refuel them all as many as six times each year! Blink is a newer rival to Arlo’s home cameras, and it’s now owned by Amazon which means pricing is obviously going to undercut Arlo by a big margin on a normal day. On Black Friday, of course, those prices are going to dive even lower. Amazon is running killer deals on Blink Indoor Home Security Camera Systems as well as Blink XT Home Security Camera Systems, which are weatherproof so they can be mounted anywhere. Both models offer insane 2-year battery life, so grab them now on sale while you can.
