NASA’s InSight lander just snapped its first selfie, and it’s a stunner
When it comes to robots on Mars, one of NASA’s many traditions is making sure its rovers snap a selfie or two while hanging out on the planet’s dusty surface. That tradition has continued with the newly-landed InSight lander, and NASA just published the robot’s first self-shot photo.
The image, which is stitched together from several different snapshots the machine sent back to Earth, gives NASA engineers a clear look at InSight’s surroundings and also lets them see the condition of the hardware that will spend the next several months listening closely to the inner workings of Mars.

Full cast revealed for live-action Star Wars series ‘The Mandalorian’
Reactions to all four of the Star Wars movies that have come out since Disney took over the franchise have been decidedly mixed. Some people were concerned about The Force Awakens retreading old ground, while others didn’t like how many risks The Last Jedi took. Rogue One was generally well-received, but Solo was a big enough disaster to make the studio rethink its approach to the property and cancel at least one upcoming movie.
But the reason that many of us were excited to see the franchise rise from the dead (myself included) was to see how Disney would explore the rest of the Star Wars universe — the stories that don’t directly involve the Skywalker family. What is everyone else doing while Anakin, Luke, Leia, and Rey are deciding the fate of the universe?

Windows 10 is still sending data to Microsoft, even if you don’t want it to
When Microsoft first launched Windows 10 a few years ago, users quickly discovered that the operating system would collect and send data about them back to Microsoft unless explicitly told not to.
In the years that followed, Microsoft created a Privacy Dashboard that would let all Windows 10 users better manage their privacy settings and prevent data from being sent to Microsoft’s servers. A new report now reveals that Microsoft may still be collecting some data from your Windows 10 device, even if you thought it wasn’t.

Apple’s next iPhone may be even thinner and lighter thanks to new OLED technology
As part of Apple’s never-ending efforts to make its products thinner and lighter, a new report from ETNews relays that one of Apple’s next-gen 2019 iPhone models may include a new touch-integrated OLED display. With current iPhone models housing a separate touch panel, integrating everything into a single display could result in a substantial reduction in weight.
The rumored OLED panels will, of course, come from Samsung Display, and are reportedly called ‘Y-OCTA’ displays. According to the report, Samsung just this month managed to produce a batch of displays that were up to par with Apple’s stringent quality standards.

This $12 portable mini tire inflator should be in every single car
Now that the weather is getting colder, the air pressure in your tires has gotten low and you need to fill them up. So which sounds like the better option? Your first choice is to head over to your local gas station, pop quarters in their air pump, get grease all over yourself as you fill three tires, get angry when time runs out before you fill your fourth tire, find a gas station attendant to change a dollar, and get more grease all over yourself as you finally fill your fourth tire. OR… pop the DBPOWER Portable Mini 12V Tire Inflator you bought on Amazon for $12 out of your trunk, plug it into the power port in your car, and fill up all four of your tires while your car sits in your nice warm garage. Yeah, we thought so.
DBPOWER Portable Mini 12V Tire Inflator, Auto Air Compressor for Cars, Bikes, Motorcycles and I…: $11.99
Here are the highlights from the product page:
- 【VERSATILE AND USEFUL】 This mini-sized DBPOWER tire inflator is a very useful tool to have in your car or garage. It’s so compact then it can be held in your hand. Designed to inflate tires for cars, bikes and motorcycles, it can be use with an array of other inflatables thanks to the 3 nozzle adaptors included. It’s a great companion to have with you on the road, on a trip, or vacation.
- 【EASY AND FAST TO USE】 It may be compact, but it is not lacking in inflation power! It will inflate a standard mid-sized car tire from 0-35 psi in 10 minutes. You may be thinking this is not that fast, but considering this pump can fit in the palm of your hand, it’s a pretty impressive speed. Simply plug into a car cigarette lighter socket, start inflating and manually turn off the compressor once the desired pressure has been reached.
- 【COMPACT SIZE FOR EASY STORAGE】 One of the best benefits of this tire pump has to be its size. Designed small and light, it can easily be held with one hand. This makes it great to use for inflating smaller items such as sports balls. It really doesn’t take up any space at all and can easily be stored in places such as a glovebox or under a car seat.
- 【LONGER POWER CORD】 The charging cable is 3m long enabling you to reach all four car tires of even longer model cars without difficulties! Don’t be inconvenienced or annoyed again by those inferior air pumps that can barely reach the back tires!
- 【BUY WITH CONFIDENCE】 All customers are backed by our 12-month “No Questions Asked” warranty. Tech support and professional customer service are available should you have any problems.
