Young girl’s inoperable brain tumor mysteriously vanishes without a trace
When 11-year-old Roxli Doss and her family were given the news that she had developed a brain tumor that was inoperable, you can imagine their dismay. They were told that the tumor — which was diagnosed by doctors at multiple institutions, including Johns Hopkins, as diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG) — had no cure.
That was in June of 2018, and now, half a year later, the tumor is nowhere to be found. Young Roxli’s MRIs are clear of any trace of the tumor, and doctors can do little but scratch their heads.

LG will make OLED TVs will roll up like posters a reality in 2019
LG last January unveiled TV sets that roll up like posters, but that was just a concept that wasn’t ready for an actual commercial launch. However, things will change next year, as the Korean giant is hoping to revive its ailing TV business by bringing this novel form factor to life in the real world.

Marvel’s canceled Netflix shows may be revived on Disney+ eventually
Fans of Marvel’s Netflix series were stunned last month when the streaming service announced that Daredevil would not be returning for a fourth season. The cancellation didn’t exactly come out of nowhere — after all, Luke Cage and Iron Fist had both been unceremoniously canned just a month earlier — but Daredevil’s third season was met with critical acclaim, and the show seemed to have a large enough audience to keep it afloat.
Nevertheless, Netflix decided to move on, seemingly signaling that the Marvel-Netflix experiment would be coming to an end. Jessica Jones and The Punisher each have new seasons left in the hopper, but the expectation is that they will be axed as well. So will we ever see these actors in these roles again? Maybe!

The official pronunciation of the Porsche Taycan is worse than we thought
With the introduction of the original Roadster, and the Model S a few years later, Tesla emphatically demonstrated that electric cars could be exceedingly sleek as opposed to clunky boxes you wouldn’t want to be caught dead in. Flash forward to 2018 and a number of luxury automakers are embracing the EV revolution. With that said, the upcoming Porsche Taycan — formerly known as the Mission E — is arguably the most exciting EV release on the horizon.
Originally unveiled back in late 2015, the Porsche Taycan has truly impressive specs that one would expect to see from Porsche. Sporting a 0-62 MPH time of 3.5 seconds and a top speed in excess of 155 MPH, the Taycan will also boast an impressive range of 310 miles on a single charge. Even better, Porsche recently said that the Taycan will be able to charge up to 250 miles of range in under 20 minutes when it finally hits the road in 2020.

Ford applied noise-cancelling technology to a doghouse, and it’s awesome
Keeping passengers in a vehicle from hearing the noise of a busy road is a problem that many auto manufacturers have attempted to solve over the years. Noise dampening materials can only do so much, but Ford is now working with noise cancelling technologies that aim to actively combat road sounds by cancelling them out.
The company recently applied its new noise-cancelling know-how to a project that has nothing to do with vehicles, but instead focuses on man’s best friend. Ford Europe built a new kind of doghouse that allows canines to rest without worry of loud noises, like fireworks, disturbing them.

Astronomers spotted the most distant object in the Solar System, named it ‘Farout’
You’ve really got to hand it to space scientists. They regularly deliver mind-blowing news that tells us more and more about the universe we live in, and they manage to do it all while keeping a pretty good sense of humor.
Take the recent discovery of a new, super-distant Solar System object called 2018 VG18, for example. In a new announcement by the International Astronomical Union’s Minor Planet Center, the existence of the object was revealed, along with its very tongue-in-cheek nickname: “Farout.”
