We’ve known for a few weeks now that Disney is turning yet another of its classic animated features into a live-action film. Launching next May, Aladdin will join the likes of Beauty and the Beast, Dumbo, and The Lion King. But Disney has so far only released a teaser trailer for the film, and until now we had no idea how Will Smith will look as the Genie. However, the first Aladdin footage and still photos are now out, and Smith’s Genie is finally out of the bottle.

It’s no secret that Apple’s 2018 iPhone lineup didn’t bring a whole lot to the table in terms of software. This, of course, isn’t terribly surprising amid reports that Apple — after reeling from a number of high-profile software bugs over the past few months — opted to make iOS 12 more of a Snow Leopard style release. Consequently, some of Apple’s more ambitious features, such as a redesigned home screen, were reportedly pushed back to iOS 13.

Alleged Avengers: Endgame toys have in the past revealed clues about the Infinity War sequel long before we had a trailer and title for the movie. A leak a few months ago suggested that the remaining heroes will all wear matching uniforms, similar to what Hank Pym used to travel to the Quantum Realm in Ant-Man and the Wasp.

A different leak suggested that Pepper Pots will suit up as Rescue in Avengers 4, revealing yet another plot line for the movie. Since then, we learned the film is called Avengers: Endgame, and we now have a Lego leak that delivers an important detail about the fate of a hero who wasn’t part of the main Infinity War battles.

Yesterday — Tuesday, December 18th — was supposed to be a marquee day for space agencies and private spaceflight companies around the world. A total of four rocket launches were scheduled to take place within roughly half a day’s time, and the big stars of the show were going to be SpaceX and Blue Origin.

Things didn’t go as planned.

Both SpaceX and Blue Origin were forced to abort their individual launches due to specific issues that popped up at the last second. SpaceX said its rocket threw an abort alert due to a sensor issue, while Blue Origin explained that a “ground infrastructure issue” was to blame for its own delay. Both companies then targeted Wednesday for their respective launches and now both companies have cancelled those plans yet again. What a week!

The new year is right around the corner, but more importantly for Netflix subscribers, the first of January marks a new month as well. The one-two punch of departures in January has to be Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and The Fellowship of the Ring. Both massive blockbusters will be removed from Netflix before the end of next month, so if you’ve been waiting to get a viewing or two of either movie in, be sure to do so before they depart.
