Jack Black is bringing his zany persona to a YouTube channel focused on gaming
YouTube’s newest gaming personality is funny, eccentric, weird and very famous. We’re talking, of course, about Jack Black, who also very much knows his memes — the banner for the new gaming-focused YouTube channel he’s launched, Jablinksi Games, is ‘Sakurai Kirby,” and the channel will apparently see the first episode from the actor uploaded on Friday.
Jack is working on this with his son, who will apparently handle all the behind-the-camera stuff. The description underneath a short clip Jack posted to the channel by way of introducing it promises “games, food and life,” so make of that what you will. “It’s gonna be bigger than Ninja. It’s gonna be bigger than PewDiePie,” Jack promises in that short clip about his channel, which had already racked up almost 380.000 subscribers at the time of this writing.

Sniffles, the noseless dog, needs a loving home
The holidays are a time of giving, and if you’re looking to give a homeless pet a new life, you probably won’t do much better than Sniffles. Found by Orange County Animal Services, Sniffles is a stray with a rather unique condition: he was born without a nose.
The pup gets along just fine without a sniffer and, while he does have a habit of snorting, it hasn’t affected his pleasant disposition. After going through an exam at a local vet in Florida, Sniffles was given a clean bill of health. Now, he needs a forever home, and the internet is falling all over itself to find him one.

Samsung rumored to bring ‘Sound on Display’ OLED panels to CES 2019
Every smartphone generation has its theoretical apex, and this generation, every phone maker on the planet appears to be gunning for the all-screen design that will win over consumers. The notch of the iPhone X was a step in the right direction, but other brands have pushed the concept further, and while Samsung has yet to make its move, there is a great deal of mounting evidence that future Galaxy phones will lose their bezels altogether.
Citing industry sources, Korean-language news site Electronic Times reported on Wednesday that Samsung plans to show off its “Sound on Display” (SoD) OLED panels at CES 2019 next month. First announced earlier this year, SoD panels eliminate the need for external speakers and allow the display to emit sound.

Galaxy S10 might include one of the iPhone’s most advanced features
New code found in Samsung’s Android Pie update suggests that the company’s upcoming Galaxy S10 may include support for 3D facial recognition. While current Galaxy models already boast facial recognition, Samsung’s offering is far less secure than what Apple uses with Face ID, for example. The reason, quite simply, is that Samsung’s implementation relies upon a 2D map of a user’s face and, as a result, the devices can easily be fooled with photos and video.
As to the newly discovered code, XDA Developers found data strings that make reference to Time of Flight cameras, technology which is commonly used with 3D mapping and can help differentiate between a 2D photo and an actual 3D face.

Netflix will reportedly release a ‘Black Mirror’ choose-your-own adventure movie on Friday
If you’re still in the post-Christmas, pre-New Year’s holiday haze with lots of down time and a whole lot of nothing to do, you may consider turning at some point to Netflix to scratch that itch. Precisely for this reason, new content keeps getting added into the pipeline at the streaming giant, with the service reportedly set to offer up something pretty wild and original as soon as this Friday: That choose-your-own adventure-style Black Mirror movie you may have heard was coming.
Indeed, because you’ll be able to direct the action in a way, choosing from different scenarios with your remote, the filmmakers have included some 312 minutes of interactive footage for Bandersnatch. That’s the title of the film — which will give Black Mirror fans something to tide them over until the release of the show’s fifth season perhaps in 2019.

The $40 console that plays every NES and SNES game ever is so much better than those classic consoles
Classic consoles make up a trend that just doesn’t seem to want to go away. It started with the NES Classic Edition console and things took off from there. What does it mean if the hole in the ISS was drilled from the inside?
There isn’t much contest for the most bizarre space news story of the year. If anyone were to give away such an award it would definitely be handed to the bizarre saga of the leak that spontaneously appeared in the hull of a Soyuz spacecraft that was attached to the International Space Station several months ago. Now, with the ship itself safely back on Earth and the portion of the spacecraft that held the hole jettisoned during reentry, it’s up to Russia to determine how the whole was created, when, and by whom.
The country’s investigation into the strange incident has seemed messy to any outside observer, with statements from officials coming fast and furious in the days following the hole’s discovery and then tapering off rapidly with no resolution. This week, Russian cosmonaut Sergei Prokopyev told reporters that the hunt for the truth was in the hands of the Russian space program, but he also stated definitively that the hole was created from the inside.
