‘Game of Thrones’ cast and crew talk Jon and Dany heading into season 8
After what has been possibly one of the most excruciating waits in television history, Game of Thrones will return for its eighth and final season in April 2019. That’s a full twenty months after season 7 concluded way back in August of 2017, but fans are hoping that the extended off-time will have been worth it. Unfortunately, the waiting continues for now, but the cast and crew are at least starting to talk about the upcoming season.
In an interview with TV Guide this week, showrunners Benioff and Weiss, along with actors Kit Harington (Jon Snow) and Emilia Clarke (Daenarys Targaryen), touched on how the stunning revelations of season 7 will affect the final six episodes, especially when it comes to the show’s impromptu heroes: Jon and Dany.

Apple’s bad news for investors might be good news for Samsung and Huawei
Two of Apple’s biggest rivals in the smartphone game likely broke out some bubbly over the past 24 hours in celebration of the good fortune that’s suddenly come their way.
Over the past 24 hours, it should go without saying, investors, analysts and talking heads have scrutinized the potential fallout from Apple CEO Tim Cook’s surprise letter to investors Wednesday, in which Cook relayed that Apple was revising its revenue guidance lower for the typically busy holiday quarter. Apple’s stock, naturally, got slammed. Market watchers berated the company for coasting on the iPhone’s success for too long. Blame was placed in large measure on a slowdown in Apple’s business in China, which likewise stems from US-China trade tensions.
Samsung and Huawei, meanwhile, don’t have anything to worry about regarding their own businesses. Huawei for obvious reasons, and Samsung for reasons that we’ll get into it. Basically, this is good news for both.

New Horizons isn’t done yet, and NASA is searching for its next target
New Horizons gave NASA an amazing New Year’s gift when it sent back gorgeous images of the distant Solar System object Ultima Thule, which we now know is the very first contact binary every visited by man-made spacecraft. It’s been a fantastic few days for the New Horizons team, but the spacecraft is far from finished.
Now, even as NASA scientists prepare to download a massive collection of data collected during the Ultima Thule flyby, the spacecraft’s handlers are busy searching for its next target. The probe still has plenty of fuel to play with, and there’s no shortage of interesting objects in the Kuiper Belt, which is packed with debris of varying sizes.

Another blood pressure medication has been recalled over cancer-causing impurity
We had no shortage of blood pressure medication recalls in 2018, with multiple companies issuing warnings over drug impurities that could cause cancer. It looks like that trend will continue in 2019 as yet another company has issued a recall of blood pressure tablets after detecting an impurity that may be cancer-causing.
This time around it’s Aurobindo Pharma USA Inc, which is recalling prescriptions of the drug Valsartan. Valsartan, you may remember, has been the subject of recalls due to such impurities in the past. The drug is sold by several manufacturers, and in July of 2018 almost a half-dozen companies were forced to recall their products due to the discovery of human carcinogens in the tablets.
