2019 will be an exciting year for smartphone designs… unless you’re an iPhone fan

%name Articles of Interest by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Apple loved the design on its iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus from 2014 so much that it ended up reusing almost the exact same design for not two, not three, but four consecutive years. The iPhone 6s was exactly the same, the iPhone 7 added a dual-lens camera on the Plus model, and the iPhone 8 swapped out the aluminum back for glass. Still, each of those iPhone models was indistinguishable from its predecessors from afar. Thankfully, big performance boosts and nifty new features such as Portrait Mode photography on the iPhone 7 Plus and wireless charging on the iPhone 8 were introduced to help keep things fresh.

For a long time, Apple had introduced new iPhone designs every other year, and some people thought the company might go back to that pattern now that its new iPhone design identity was introduced on 2017’s iPhone X. If you were hoping that would be the case though, we may have some bad news. It appears as though Apple is just as pleased with its 2017 iPhone X design as it was with the iPhone 6, because a new leak from a top smartphone industry insider says Apple will use the iPhone X’s design for a third consecutive year on its upcoming new “iPhone 11” series handsets.

Samsung’s unreleased Galaxy S10 looks stunning in these new renders

%name Articles of Interest by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Today marks the start of CES 2019, the biggest consumer electronics trade show of the year. Thousands upon thousands of new products will be introduced over the course of the next few days, and we can’t wait to see what’s in store. Of course this year, like every year in the past, the hottest new devices of the year will be nowhere to be found in Las Vegas this week. CES is great for new TVs, laptops, and smart home gadgets, but things like new iPhones and Galaxy phones never make an appearance at the show.

Lucky for us, there will also be plenty of leaks to enjoy this week, as there have been in weeks past. Where this year’s new “iPhone 11” is concerned, we saw the phone’s updated design leak on Sunday. Of course, we still have more than 8 months to wait before Apple’s next-generation iPhones become a reality. The hotly anticipated Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10 Plus will launch much sooner than that — next month, in fact — and now we have some stunning new images to enjoy while we wait.

%name Articles of Interest by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

The Mpow 059 Bluetooth Headphones have been best-sellers on Amazon for more than two years now. That shouldn’t come as much of a surprise since they offer sound quality and battery life that rival Beats at a teeny tiny fraction of the price. That fraction is even smaller on Monday than it typically is, because you can snag a pair of these fantastic over-ear wireless headphones for just $27.99 when you use the coupon code MPOW0591 at checkout. That matches their lowest price ever, making this a deal that should not be missed.

Mpow 059 Bluetooth Headphones Over Ear, Hi-Fi Stereo Wireless Headset, Foldable, Soft Memory-Pr…: $27.99 (use code MPOW0591)

Here’s more info from the product page:

  • IMPRESSIVE SOUND QUALITY IS THE ULTIMATE GOAL & PLEASE NOTE: 1. This item is passive noise isolating, NOT active noise cancellation(ANC), it can’t cancel the noise completely but it won’t drain the battery and damage the sound. As an additional factor of sound quality, it is better than ANC. 2. The closed-back design provides immersive Hi-Fi sound with CSR chip and 40mm driver together. If you care more about Noise Cancellation than Sound Quality, you may consider other alternatives.
  • BUILT TO STAY COMFORTABLE: The Memory-protein ear cushion simulate human skin texture, ensuring lasting comfort. The stainless steel slider and softly padded headband allows you to find the perfect fit without constraint and provide excellent durability.
  • NEVER POWER OFF, BOTH WIRELESS & WIRED: 1. The wireless mode: Battery update to 20-hr music time/ talking time in a single charge, instead of 13-15 hrs from Oct 1, 2017; 2. The Wired mode: you can also use it as a wired headphone with the provided audio cable so the headphones will never power off.
  • FOLDABLE DESIGN WITH A PORTABLE BAG & GENTLE REMINDER : The foldable Headband is not only designed for saving your desk space but for carrying in the provided bag. Gentle Reminder: Depending on your head/ear size/shape, it may be a little tight(feels like“on ear”) for someone to wear which is designed to avoid sound leakage. In case of that and to get both audio and wearing comfort, please take off the headphone every 1-2 hrs to get your ears relax and protect them from muggy environment in use.

These renders might be our first ever look at Apple’s new iPhone 11 design

%name Articles of Interest by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

We’re a barely a week into 2019 and rumors surrounding Apple’s next-gen iPhone lineup are already starting to trickle in. With that said, the latest interesting iPhone tidbit comes from Steve Hemmerstoffer who, together with Digit, published some intriguing new renders of what Apple’s 2019 flagship “iPhone 11” may look like.

Now before we get to the renders themselves — which objectively look a bit odd — there are a few things worth mentioning. One, Hemmerstoffer has provided accurate information regarding next-gen iPhone designs in the past. Two, there have been conflicting rumors regarding whether or not Apple will incorporate a triple-lens camera design on its 2019 flagship. Third, even Hemmerstoffer concedes that it’s “freakingly early” to put too much stock in any particular leak at this point.
