Samsung’s next-gen smartphone lineup — which will reportedly consist of four distinct devices — will officially be unveiled at a special Unpacked event scheduled to take place in San Francisco on February 20. While it’s been a while since we’ve been wowed with a Galaxy unveiling, Samsung’s upcoming S10 lineup certainly offers a lot of promise and will hopefully inject a bit of excitement into a smartphone landscape that has been somewhat uneventful as of late.

While it goes without saying that nothing is 100% official until Samsung announces it, it’s widely believed that Samsung’s upcoming S10 lineup will consist of an S10 Lite model a 5.8-inch display, an 6.1-inch S10, a larger 6.4-inch S10+, and last but not least, an S10+ model with built-in support for 5G. Per usual, a lot of what we can expect from Samsung’s upcoming S10 lineup has already leaked, but there are still a few details that remain up in the air.

New concept video is probably our best look yet at Apple’s iPhone 11

%name Articles of Interest by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

The crazy thing about the Apple rumor mill is that it simply never stops. Even in the aftermath of Apple introducing its brand new iPhone models, supply chain rumors surrounding alleged new features Apple may add to its next-gen iPhone lineup typically surface within just a few weeks time.

With that said, the rumors surrounding Apple’s 2019 iPhone lineup have already started to trickle in at a steady clip. From what we’ve gathered so far, Apple’s 2019 iPhone lineup — much like its 2018 lineup — will consist of three devices. Essentially, you can look forward to Apple substantially enhancing the iPhone XR, XS, and XS Max. Specifically, the successor to the iPhone XR will reportedly include a dual-lens camera while the successor to the iPhone XS Max will reportedly boast a triple-lens camera design.

New Galaxy S10 leak from top Samsung insider reveals an unexpected surprise

%name Articles of Interest by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Samsung recently announced its preliminary holiday-quarter earnings and as was the case with Apple’s revised guidance, things are not looking good. Will Samsung ever stop copying Apple!? (That was a joke, please don’t send me any whiny emails.) Samsung’s profit plummeted last quarter for a few main reasons, but the biggest is terrible performance from the company’s smartphone division. Put simply, Samsung’s 2018 smartphone lineup was an absolute snoozefest, especially at the high end.

The South Korean electronics giant typically pulls in a big share of its smartphone profit from flagship phone sales, which makes sense since the priciest phone models carry the best margins. The problem in 2018, however, was that Samsung’s flagship phones were horribly boring. The Galaxy S9, Galaxy S9+, and Galaxy Note 9 all looked exactly like their predecessors from back in 2017, and they offered no novel new features that might entice buyers. Surprise, surprise… sales sank like a rock as a result. Thankfully, Samsung looks ready to right its wrongs in 2019 with some of the most exciting new smartphones we’ve seen in years, and now we have yet another reason to be excited about Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S10+.

Is Amazon creepier than Google at this point?

%name Articles of Interest by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Did someone distribute a privacy-related memo of some kind at Amazon recently — one that declares, at this point, there are no rules anymore? Because there have been a steady stream of reports out of the company for months now that make it seem like the internet retail giant is trying as hard as it possibly can to be even creepier than Google.

The latest evidence came just this week, with news that the smart home company Ring which Amazon paid more than $1 billion to acquire has allegedly been violating its customers’ privacy in a shocking way — via its engineers and executives who reportedly have had “highly privileged access” to live customer camera feeds. That’s according to The Intercept, which quoted sources in recent days who also disclosed the existence of a Ring R&D team in Ukraine that could apparently access a folder containing “every video created by every Ring camera around the world.”
