Every photo of Tesla’s next-gen Roadster

%name Articles of Interest by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

The exciting thing about Tesla’s next-gen Roadster, aside from the car’s outrageous specs, is that may actually launch on time. Now if you’re inclined to scoff at that prediction, well, I can’t say I blame you. After all, every single vehicle Tesla has ever released has been subject to prolonged delays. That notwithstanding, it stands to reason that the production missteps Tesla experienced with the Model X and the Model 3 will help inform production on the next-gen Roadster and help Tesla launch the car in 2020, as initially promised.

The specs on Tesla’s next-gen Roadster, in case you’ve forgotten, are absolutely mind-blowing. Specifically, the sports car boasts a blazing fast 0-60 MPH time of 1.9 seconds and can get up to 100 MPH in just 4.2 seconds flat. Beyond that, the Roadster will reportedly boast a top speed in excess of 250 MPH, making the car a certifiable speed demon. And while Elon Musk is prone to hyperbole, he wasn’t exaggerating when he said the next-gen Roadster “will be the fastest production car ever made.”

The 5G Galaxy S10 will reportedly cost twice as much as the cheapest S10 model

%name Articles of Interest by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

When the Galaxy S10 X launches next month, it’ll be twice as expensive as the most basic Galaxy S10 phone that you’ll find in stores in March. What’s the Galaxy S10 X, you ask? A report says that that’s the name Samsung chose for a very special Galaxy S10 — the 5G model that’s set to hit stores in Korea first.

The name is incredibly strange, especially considering Apple’s own iPhone X naming scheme, where X stands for “ten.” Per ETNews, X is both supposed to emphasize the fact that Samsung’s Galaxy S line will celebrate its tenth anniversary this year, but also to stand for “eXperience,” or “eXpansion.”

The device that turns any TV into a giant touchscreen tablet is the accessory you never knew you needed

%name Articles of Interest by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

If I had a ton of extra cash lying around, I would definitely buy the new Microsoft Surface Hub 2 when it comes out later this year. I mean, seriously, look at how friggin cool this thing is:

https://boygeniusreport.files.wordpress.com/2018/05/surfacehub2gif.gif

But alas… the original Surface Hub cost more than $10,000 and I would imagine the second-generation model won’t be far behind. Long story short, there’s no way I’ll ever have a Surface Hub 2. Luckily, I do have something that’s almost as cool and it cost me a small fraction of the price. The Touchjet WAVE Virtual Touchscreen TV System attaches to any TV up to 65 inches and it instantly transforms it into an Android-powered touchscreen. It’s so cool, and you definitely need to check it out.

Touchjet WAVE Android Tablet Virtual Touchscreen TV System Projector: $299.99

Tesla wants researchers to probe the Model 3 for security bugs as part of a hacking contest

%name Articles of Interest by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Tesla announced today that as a kind of expansion of its bug bounty efforts, the electric carmaker is making a Model 3 available for use in the Pwn2Own hacking contest that will be held in March in Vancouver.

It’s the first time the contest will include an automotive category, and among the contest’s potential winnings are more than $1 million in cash and prizes available for researchers. A Model 3 is also being given away to one winner in accordance with the contest rules. Tesla, of course, has issued hundreds of over-the-air software updates that have served to fine-tune the performance, safety and security of the company’s cars ever since making the first OTA software update available back in 2012. And its involvement in the hacking competition is likewise an expansion of sorts for the carmaker’s bug bounty efforts, which included expanding the maximum reward payments from $10,000 to $15,000 last year.

‘Rocket League’ now features full cross-platform play on PS4, Xbox, Switch and PC

%name Articles of Interest by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

The barriers preventing true cross-platform gaming across all consoles continue to crumble as Sony announced on Monday that Rocket League is the newest game to join its PlayStation Cross-Play Beta program. What this means is that PS4 players can now be matched up with or against people playing on Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, or PC, if they so choose. This applies to all online match types: Casual, Competitive, and Extra Modes.

Cross-platform play is enabled by default, but if you want to make sure it’s turned on (or if you want to turn it off), you can do so by going to Main Menu > Options > Gameplay and ticking (or unticking) the box labeled Cross-Platform Play. Once that box is ticked, all you have to do is start matchmaking.

Someone slipped a gun past the TSA in Atlanta and flew with it all the way to Tokyo

%name Articles of Interest by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

The TSA’s army of screeners who make sure passengers adhere to security procedures before boarding flights at airports around the country are, of course, among the some 800,000 federal employees affected by the ongoing government shutdown. As in, the TSA agents have either been furloughed or aren’t being paid at the moment. But the agency wants to assure you that the shutdown — which has reportedly led a number of federal workers around the country to call in sick, freeing them up to work other jobs they can actually get paid for — had absolutely nothing to do with the fact that a few days ago, a flyer was able to slip a gun past TSA agents in Atlanta. Not only that, but the passenger flew with it, tucked in some carry-on luggage, all the way to Tokyo Narita International Airport.
