AirPods 2 with exciting new features will reportedly launch in the first half of 2019
A couple of insiders last year said that Apple would launch the second-generation AirPods wireless earphones by the end of 2018 or in early 2019. Those unofficial deadlines came and went without any announcements from Apple. A brand new report now claims that Apple will launch the AirPods 2 in the first half of 2019.

LG teases ‘Minority Report’ technology for smartphones
A report a few days ago said that LG would introduce a few interesting technologies at this year’s Mobile World Congress edition that kicks off in late February in Barcelona, Spain. The South Korean giant has been developing phones with secondary displays that shouldn’t be confused with foldable devices, as well as a new way of interacting with phones by using only gestures instead of touch. The phone’s camera would be able to pick gestures from 20 to 30cm away, the report said. It wasn’t clear at the time whether the upcoming LG flagship, tentatively named G8 ThinQ will make use of both a new screen design and the new touchless control, and LG won’t confirm any of it until MWC. But the company is already teasing the gesture-based interaction technology.

Netflix original movie ‘IO’ practically begs you to cancel your subscription
Netflix recently confirmed price hikes for its subscriptions to which I have a simple answer: “So what?” I’ve told you this before, but I still maintain the notion that Netflix is still very affordable, and you shouldn’t cancel it just because you’ll pay a few more dollars each month. Netflix is still probably a lot cheaper than what you spend on coffee each month. If you think of all the great content coming out of Netflix each year, there are plenty of Netflix TV shows that deserve your support. And Netflix needs to make money to put out great shows.
But while it has plenty of hit TV shows on its hands, Netflix isn’t doing so great when it comes to original movies. And titles like IO practically beg you to cancel the subscription — before you go any further, you should know the following not-a-full-review contains plenty of spoilers for the film.
Actually, on second thought… you might want to read this before investing your time in it.

There’s a new app in China that shows which of your neighbors are racking up debt
China keeps taking the surveillance state that’s so pervasive in the country to new extremes, this time with an extension of the government’s controversial new “social credit” policy that involves a kind of public shaming for people racking up debt.
A new app has been developed that Chinese citizens can access via the country’s popular WeChat messaging platform which will literally display a warning once they get within 500 meters of someone who’s in debt. The app has created what’s essentially a map of “deadbeat debtors,” according to Chinese state media, and shows you the debtor’s exact location, though it’s unclear if the displayed information includes a name or photo.

Oops! ‘Ancient’ stone circle was actually built by a farmer in the 1990s
Finding an ancient monument that has been sitting for thousands of years is a special thing, but when it’s been “hiding” in plain sight, its very existence is sure to raise more than a few skeptical eyebrows.
In December, a seemingly prehistoric stone monument was discovered on farmland in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, and archaeologists were shocked that it hadn’t been found earlier. Now, it seems the unlikely find was indeed too good to be true, as a former owner of the land has come forward to admit that he arranged the stones himself, never expecting that historians would one day come along and make up their own origin story.

‘Far From Home’ theories clarify how Spider-Man was resurrected after ‘Infinity War’
We’ve overanalyzed the first Spider-Man: Far From Home trailer, now that it’s finally out, and we explained why there should be no question about Marvel’s MCU timeline. Avengers: Infinity War, Endgame, and Far From Home happen in this order. Regardless of what happens in Endgame, that’s still the order of events. There may be time travel, time loops, and time resets in Endgame, of course. That’s something we expect from the Infinity War sequel as, somehow, the decimation must be undone.
But the Far From Home trailer doesn’t explain how Peter Parker is brought back to life for this movie. At the moment, for all we know, he’s dead for good. And Sony went to great lengths not to spoil Avengers 4 with its marketing for Spider-Man: Far From Home, although there may be hints in the trailer teasing tragic Endgame events. Marvel fans, of course, already have theories as to how Spider-Man will be saved.

A few MacBook Pro owners are experiencing a troublesome ‘Stage Light’ effect
In late 2016, Apple introduced a revamped MacBook Pro lineup with a whole lot of fanfare. Not only did Apple’s new top of the line notebook feature a TouchBar, the entire lineup incorporated a brand new butterfly keyboard design which was supposed to create an improved typing experience. In reality, the new keyboard design was temperamental insofar that certain keys would stop working altogether if even the tiniest bit of dust happened to wedge itself underneath the keyboard.
Apple has since addressed the controversial keyboard design with a product refresh this past July. And while that’s all well and good, a brand new issue plaguing certain MacBook Pro models has emerged.

Moviegoers think these were the biggest Oscar snubs of 2019
Nominees for the 91st Academy Awards were unveiled this morning, with the full list of nominations available here. The ceremony celebrates the best films of 2018 on February 24th at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.
There were plenty of exciting appearances on this year’s list of nominees, including Black Panther and Roma both scoring nominations for Best Picture. As always, though, there are plenty of omissions that some people no doubt feel are surprising — and that arguably even count as outright snubs. Which is what Fandango decided to poll fans about immediately after the nominations were unveiled, which generated some interesting findings as part of the movie network’s 2019 Oscar Nomination Snubs and Surprises survey.

Nearly 70,000 pounds of chicken nuggets recalled because there’s wood in them
Food recalls are nothing new, and there’s plenty of reasons that a company might need to issue a recall of a consumable product. Sometimes food is contaminated during manufacturing or contains traces of another food product that could trigger allergies in unsuspecting consumers, but a recent recall of chicken nuggets comes with a bizarre twist.
According to the USDA, Perdue Foods LLC is issuing a prompt recall of nearly 70,000 pounds of ready-to-eat chicken nuggets because the company fears there’s wood — yes, wood — in them. Somehow, that might not even be the most surprising thing about this story.
