‘Bug bombs’ make life worse for you, not roaches
Discovering your home or apartment has a roach problem may be enough to make you want to take some seriously drastic measures. Nobody likes seeing bugs taking over their living space, and foggers — or “bug bombs” if you prefer — are a popular choice for clearing pests out of a home.
However, a new study suggests that these chemical cocktails aren’t all that effective against roaches. In fact, bug bombs might be causing more problems for humans in a home than the cockroach invaders they’re trying to get rid of, and the risks the chemicals pose don’t seem to be worth it.

Intel has an excellent idea for a foldable Surface Phone
You may expect Intel to invent and produce various internal components to power the foldable smartphones and laptops of the near future, but the chipmaker isn’t known for launching its own hardware. That didn’t stop the company from coming up with a foldable smartphone of its own, which honestly doesn’t look too bad.

‘Metro Exodus’ is an Epic Games store exclusive, and Valve isn’t happy about it
The digital content distribution wars heated up once again on Monday as Deep Silver and Epic Games teamed up to announce that Metro Exodus — the upcoming entry in the first-person shooter series — is going to be exclusive to the Epic Games store on PC. While this news on its own isn’t terribly interesting, the details surrounding this decision are, as Metro Exodus has been available to preorder on Steam for months. Those preorders will be honored, but Valve won’t take any additional preorders or sell the game when it launches on February 15th.
With its attractive revenue share for developers, the Epic Games store has already picked up a few exclusives, but the timing of this announcement — with the game’s release just days away — appears to have struck a nerve, as Valve went as far as to call the exclusivity deal “unfair” on the game’s store page.

Naomi Watts sounds pretty excited to join the ‘fantastic world’ of Game of Thrones
Naomi Watts sounds pretty chuffed to have taken on a role in the forthcoming Game of Thrones prequel series, in which she plays what’s been described as a “charismatic socialite” with a dark secret. That is, she sounds pretty excited even if she’s not revealing too much at the moment other than her giddiness at what’s to come and about having joined what she describes as the “fantastic world” presented in George R.R. Martin’s epic fantasy franchise.

Smartphone users are more loyal to operating systems than ever
This likely won’t come as a shock to many of you, but new research from Consumer Intelligence Research Partners (CIRP) shows that smartphone users are more likely to stick with the same mobile operating system than ever before. CIRP says that from October to December 2018, both Google’s Android and Apple’s iOS “enjoyed their highest loyalty rates measured to-date.” If you got a new phone last quarter, chances are it had the same operating system as your previous phone, as the percentage of activations with the same OS was over 90% for Android and iOS.

Despite Trump’s demands, Apple will never manufacture the iPhone in the US
One of the more peculiar — and yet wholly unsurprising — aspects of Donald Trump’s presidency is his ongoing insistence that Apple manufacture the iPhone in the United States.
“Don’t forget, Apple makes their products in China,” Trump said at a press conference a few weeks ago. “I told Tim Cook, a friend of mine, make your product in the US. Build those big, beautiful plants that go on for miles. Build those plants in the US. I like that even better…”
