Every free NES game added to Nintendo Switch Online in February 2019
In a disappointing turn of events, Nintendo added just two games to its collection of free NES titles for Switch Online subscribers in January. Every month following the launch of the subscription service last year, Nintendo added three games (along with a few surprises), so we hoped the pace would pick up once again when February rolled around. Sadly, that was not the case, as only two games are scheduled to be added this month.
On Tuesday evening, Nintendo announced that Kirby’s Adventure and Super Mario Bros. 2 would be the next games added to the Nintendo Entertainment System – Nintendo Switch Online collection on February 13th. There will likely be another surprise or two as well (like another couple of SP titles), but only two new games.

Google tells Nest camera owners to reset their terrible, weak passwords
A few days after an Illinois family told local news outlets about getting a scare after they heard racial slurs and curse words taunting them through their Nest security camera, Google has sent out an arguably vague email to Nest camera owners that alludes to incidents like that one without mentioning any details.
And the company also recommends steps that users can take to better protect themselves, one of which is Google trying to diplomatically tell users that the passwords they regularly choose are so bad that it makes their devices tempting targets for hackers — so, you know, reset your password to something better, post haste.

One year after it was shot into space, let’s check in on Elon Musk’s Tesla Roadster
It’s hard to believe it’s already been a year, but exactly 12 months ago today was the first launch of SpaceX’s Falcon Heavy. The rocket launch was a huge success and while SpaceX hasn’t launched Heavy again in the time since, it was still a very big deal for the company.
Falcon Heavy, which has since been usurped by new SpaceX projects including Starship and Super Heavy, flew skyward one year ago and took Elon Musk’s own Tesla Roadster along for the ride. The pricey payload, with its Starman mannequin seated behind the wheel, has been flying through space ever since.
Let’s check on its progress, shall we?

Leaked Nokia 9 PureView press renders give us an up-close look at all five cameras
While Samsung is set to take the mobile world by storm with the unveiling of its Galaxy S10 series on February 20th, another, even larger event will follow just days later. MWC 2019 is set to begin on February 25th, and one of the more intriguing phones expected to make its debut at the conference is the Nokia 9 PureView.
Nokia hasn’t been a major player in the industry for quite some time, but it’s certainly making waves with the Nokia 9 PureView, which, as you might have heard, features five rear cameras. While other brands are just now considering including a third rear camera, Nokia decided to jump a few steps ahead and leapfrog everyone. And now, thanks to yet another massive leak, we get to those cameras (and the rest of the phone) in all their glory.

Thieves and hackers are getting better at bypassing iCloud to unlock iPhones
In yet another sign of the mobile-first world we live in, even muggings and robberies are starting to take on a tech-savvy flair. As was the case during one 2017 incident in Washington DC, for example, when a woman was leaving a metro station and a teenager got the drop on her, grabbing her around the neck. He instructed her to keep quiet. And to delete her iCloud. Then he grabbed her iPhone 6S and took off.
Philadelphia was hit by a round of similar incidents like that one last month. The common link in all of them was a thief pointing a gun at the victim, demanding their iPhone and commanding them to disable the “Find My iPhone” feature in addition to logging out of iCloud.

NYPD orders Google to stop Waze from revealing DWI checkpoint locations
One of the cooler things about Waze, which Google picked up for a cool $966 million back in 2013, is that it provides users with all sorts of additional and useful information as they travel to and fro. Sure, it has all of the mapping basics like restaurants and traffic congestion, but it also has information regarding the location of things like potholes and red light cameras.
Waze also permits users to post information regarding the location of DWI checkpoints and, not surprisingly, the New York Police Department (NYPD) is far from thrilled about that. As reported by CBS New York, the NYPD recently sent a cease and desist letter to Google asking them to remove alerts about nearby DWI checkpoints.

Earth’s magnetic pole is shifting faster than scientists predicted
If there’s one thing big-budget Hollywood disaster films have taught us, it’s that the Earth’s poles are nothing to be messed with. But apocalyptic fiction aside, scientists have been tracking the movement of Earth’s poles for well over a century, and they never stay put.
In what might seem like an alarming bulletin, scientists from the National Centers For Environmental Information have issued an update that reveals the new location of Earth’s north magnetic pole. The update is actually an “out-of-cycle” event, meaning that it had to be done sooner than planned do to the rapid shifting of the pole’s location.

Tesla Model 3 gets a price cut, but the $35,000 model is still nowhere to be found
For the second time in as many months, Tesla lowered the price on the Model 3 as part of its ongoing effort to boost sales. As it stands now, the cheapest Model 3 available for purchase costs $42,900.
While overall demand for the Model 3 has never been much of an issue, Tesla still hasn’t released the $35,000 version it promised us quite a while back. To this point, Elon Musk a few months ago said that Tesla, for the time being, was focusing its energy on manufacturing mid-range models in the interest of profitability.
