Star-Lord couldn’t have prevented the ‘Infinity War’ deaths, even if Chris Pratt thinks so
Thanos may be the person who snapped his fingers, killing half of all living beings in the known universe in Avengers: Infinity War, but it’s two guys who get most of the blame for it. One is a Guardian of the Galaxy, and the other is an old-school Avenger. Yes, I’m talking about Star-Lord and Thor, respectively. Both of them squandered their chances to prevent Thanos from fulfilling his mission. That’s what most Marvel fans think, at least, but I’ll tell you why you’re wrong about both of them, with a major focus on Star-Lord’s moment of weakness.

Astronomer offers entirely new theory to explain ‘alien probe’ asteroid
If there’s one story that left astronomers truly scratching their heads in 2018, it had to be the mysterious interstellar visitor known as Oumuamua. The odd cigar-shaped object flew through our Solar System in late 2017, and researchers spent much of last year just trying to figure out what the heck it was.
Theories are many, and scientists have suggested the usual suspects including a comet or asteroid, as well as more “out there” possibilities like an alien ship or probe. Now, one veteran astronomer is offering an entirely new theory, and he thinks he might have the evidence to back it up.

New leak reveals innovative Galaxy S10 feature you won’t find on any iPhone
There have been so many Galaxy S10 leaks over the past few days that it’s nearly impossible to keep up with them all. We’re still nearly two weeks away from Samsung’s Unpacked event, where the Galaxy S10 series and the Galaxy F foldable phone are expected to be unveiled, but at the rate the leaks are springing up, there won’t be anything left to unveil. Which brings us to another major leak, spoiling one of the S10’s most interesting features.
On Wednesday, WinFuture’s Roland Quandt shared what appears to be an official press photo of the (unannounced) Galaxy Buds sitting on top of the (also unannounced) Galaxy S10+. The Galaxy Buds are rumored to be true wireless headphones — Samsung’s answer to Apple’s AirPods — and they will likely make their debut alongside the S10 and Galaxy F on February 20th. But this photo also hints at how the two upcoming devices will interact.

A clever Netflix feature that was exclusive to Android is finally coming to iPhone
It’s not that often that we see non-Google apps get exclusive features on Android, but it does happen, and Netflix proved as much back in July when it released a clever trick for its Android app. At the time, however, the company said that iOS would also get the feature by the end of 2018. Netflix missed that deadline, but the company on Thursday announced that the Smart Downloads feature is finally ready for your iPhone or iPad.

Skype adds background blurring, eliminating the need to clean up before a call
Good news, all of you Skype users who’ve been known to participate in calls in rooms that look like a disaster behind you — or who, you know, sit for a TV interview via Skype while your children parade around behind you. Microsoft has added a new feature to its chat service that might mitigate situations like those, and others: A background blur that relies on artificial intelligence to focus on the caller, to the exclusion of what’s around them.

Spectrum plans another inexplicable fee hike just four months after the last one
If you get your cable through Spectrum, prepare for your bill to inexplicably go up next month. According to the Los Angeles Times, Spectrum will increase its “broadcast TV” fee — which subscribers pay to access local channels — from $9.95 to $11.99 on March 1st. This in itself shouldn’t surprise cable subscribers, as fee increases are a dime a dozen lately, but the hike comes just four months after the same fee was increased from $8.85.
As the LA Times explains, this is said to be the result of a recent battle between Charter Communications (the parent company of Spectrum) and Tribune Media. Multiple channels were dropped from the service last month, but the two sides eventually settled, and the new price is theoretically to help Charter recoup the costs.
