Netflix finally cancels ‘The Punisher’ and ‘Jessica Jones,’ the last of its Marvel shows
Not that this comes as any surprise, since the writing has been on the wall for a while now, but Netflix has finally canceled its final two remaining original Marvel series – Jessica Jones and The Punisher.
News of the cancellations was first reported by Deadline, which included a statement from Netflix that doesn’t really say too much other than offering some praise for the cast and crew of both series. “Marvel’s The Punisher will not return for a third season on Netflix,” the statement from Netflix reads. “Showrunner Steve Lightfoot, the terrific crew, and exceptional cast including star Jon Bernthal, delivered an acclaimed and compelling series for fans, and we are proud to showcase their work on Netflix for years to come.

‘Avengers: Endgame’ theory says Ant-Man is even more important to the MCU than we thought
When Ant-Man came out back in 2015, I was so uninterested in the character and this particular MCU story that I didn’t even plan to go see it. I ultimately watched it in a theater just because it was the next film playing, and that was a good enough reason. The film turned out to be a lot funnier and a lot better than I had hoped, and I knew for sure I would watch the next one in theaters as soon as it came out. Little did I know back then that Avengers: Infinity War would happen, which made me want to watch Ant-Man and the Wasp even more.
Since then, we’ve learned that Ant-Man is an essential piece of the Endgame puzzle, a character who was stranded in the Quantum Real just as the snap happens. That’s likely something Doctor Strange orchestrated just so Scott Lang would be safe during the snap. Now, a new theory suggests that Ant-Man might be even more important for the massive MCU storyline that Marvel created beginning with Iron Man than we thought.

Watch a Wisconsin lake swallow a pickup truck whole
Ice fishing is a cherished tradition in the northern U.S. states and I, dear friend, happen to live very near a popular ice fishing destination in Wisconsin. The mighty (and shallow) Lake Winnebago is always packed with sportsmen this time of year and, inevitably, someone drives somewhere they shouldn’t have.
This year, one such incident was captured on video and has become a bit of a Facebook hit. In the video, you’ll see a Ford pickup being swallowed whole and settling nose-first on the shallow lake floor. It’s a troubling sight for anyone who has ever driven across a frozen lake, but it happens every single year without fail.

LG says it can make foldable phones too, but it won’t release any this year
A rumor from a trusted source said a few months ago that LG would launch a foldable smartphone at CES 2019. The event came and went, but LG did not unveil its first ever handset with a foldable screen. It turns out that LG won’t make any foldable smartphone this year, although the company insists that it has the ability to make them if it wants to.

Massive leak reveals key details about Apple’s 2019 iPhone lineup
A new research report from reputed analyst Ming-Chi Kuo (via MacRumors) details a number of intriguing new features Apple is planning to bring to its 2019 iPhone lineup. For starters, the form factors on Apple’s next-gen iPhone lineup will essentially be the same as Apple’s 2018 iPhone models, which is to say that we’ll see successors to the 6.1-inch iPhone XR, 5.8-inch iPhone XS, and the gargantuan 6.5-inch iPhone XS Max. While there have been rumblings that the iPhone XR successor might feature an OLED display, Kuo maintains that the device will stick with an LCD display. Apple will presumably transition the entirety of its iPhone lineup to OLED at some point, but that’s not in the cards for 2019.
Now onto the fun stuff. Kuo relays that Apple’s 2019 iPhone models will incorporate frosted glass casing, larger batteries, bilateral wireless charging, and as previously rumored, enhanced Face ID. While larger batteries will hopefully result in longer battery life, that’s not necessarily a sure thing. Bilateral wireless charging is particularly intriguing, with Kuo noting that Apple’s new iPhones will be able to serve a charging point for other devices. Notably, Kuo adds that Apple, contrary to some previous rumors we’ve seen, will not be abandoning its Lightning connector for USB-C later this year.
