Japan is going to blast a crater in an asteroid for science
Japan’s Hayabusa2 spacecraft is doing some big things during its time at the asteroid known as Ryugu. JAXA, Japan’s space program, arrived at the space rock last year and, after much planning, fired a projectile into its surface late last month to collect some samples of it surface. Now, JAXA is planning for an even more daring maneuver.
Getting samples from Ryugu’s surface is great, but JAXA also wants to fetch some of the material from within the asteroid itself. Hayabusa2 isn’t equipped with a drill or digging tool to pierce the asteroid’s surface, but it did bring some explosives.

Here are the results from Apple’s largest-ever irregular heartbeat study
Imperfect but still promising.
That’s been the takeaway so far from observers noting the results of Apple’s massive irregular heartbeat study, an analysis in which more than 419,000 Apple Watch users participated — and which detected signs of an irregular heartbeat, the kind of thing that could eventually lead to a stroke, in around 2,100 of those participants.

iPhone XS Max vs. Galaxy S10+ speed test: The results might surprise you
Year in and year out, Apple manages to crank out new iPhone models with increasingly impressive and arguably unrivaled hardware. Though Android has caught up to the iPhone in many ways when it comes to specific features and overall usability, new iPhone models routinely trounce all comers when it comes down to raw performance. Just a few months back, for example, you may recall that Apple’s iPhone XS — armed with the A12 Bionic — managed to beat a McLaren Edition of the OnePlus 6T boasting 10GB of RAM.
The smartphone landscape, though, doesn’t stay stagnant for long and Samsung’s recently released S10 lineup certainly brings a lot to the table. With that said, it’s that time of year where can finally pit Apple’s flagship iPhone against the latest and greatest from Samsung.

Nintendo is reportedly thinking about launching its own gaming phone
As Nintendo’s mobile division continues to bring more of the company’s most famous franchises to smartphones and tablets, some have wondered if Nintendo might test the waters with its own mobile hardware. There’s little evidence to support the idea that the game maker is dedicating resources to this pipe dream, but according to a DigiTimes report, Nintendo is among the potential players considering developing a gaming phone.
Along with the like of Xiaomi, Vivo, and Nubia, Nintendo is said to be among the companies “either strengthening their presence in the market or planning to enter it,” according to industry sources cited in the report.

New leak teases OnePlus 7’s all-screen design with no sign of a notch
If it sticks to tradition, OnePlus will likely launch two standard smartphones this year: The OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7T. But the Chinese smartphone maker will also sell a standalone 5G phone in some markets as soon as next quarter. That device was on display in heavy camouflage at MWC 2018 a few weeks ago, but it’s unclear whether it’ll be a part of the OnePlus 7 series.
Meanwhile, several leaks have claimed that OnePlus will deliver a brand new design with the OnePlus 7, and we have one more image that seems to confirm those reports.

There’s an annoying Galaxy S10 bug that keeps killing the battery
Following the disaster that was the Galaxy Note 7, Samsung has managed to avoid any other major controversies with its smartphone releases in the years since. But just days after the launch of the Galaxy S10 series, some users have begun to complain about an issue that is causing their batteries to drain at an accelerated rate.
As pointed out by SamMobile, some S10 owners have claimed that the phone’s display is turning on while sitting in their pocket due to the Tap to Wake feature. If the screen is constantly turning on and off while you’re walking around with the phone in your pocket, the battery is going to deplete itself earlier than it should.

MySpace accidentally deleted every song, photo, and video uploaded before 2016
Before Facebook dominated the social networking landscape, there was MySpace. Remember Tom? Remember having a list of your top 8 friends? Remember obnoxious personal pages with flashing lights, auto-playing music, and a seemingly endless stream of quizzes? It seems like a lifetime ago, but there was a period of time back in the mid-2000s when MySpace was the world’s largest and most popular social network.
Famously, MySpace quickly became irrelevant once Facebook decided to allow non-students to join back in 2006. MySpace’s demise can also be traced back to a number of questionable product decisions from the company’s higher-ups. As a prime example, Facebook offered users a clean and straight forward interface while MySpace decided to stick with a design principle that can properly be categorized as anarchy. All that said, you may have completely forgotten that MySpace is still around, though the site these days is more of a music-oriented entity than anything else.
