Ad scams on Android are draining your battery and making scammers rich
In light of all of the technologies and services offered by Google — from its popular search engine to Android — it’s somewhat easy to forget that the vast majority of the company’s revenue — which is in excess of $100 billion annually — comes from advertising. Indeed, it’s no stretch to say that Google is, at the core, an advertising company.
With mobile advertising being the multi-billion dollar industry that it is, it’s no surprise that shady advertisers are constantly looking for ways to skirt the system and generate a lot of cash in ill-deserved gains. As a result, some of the ploys these ad scammers implement are nothing short of fraudulent schemes that can sometimes hamper the user experience among Android users.

Everything new coming to Netflix this week, and everything leaving (week of Mar. 24)
With April looking pretty thin in terms of Netflix additions, you’re going to have plenty of time to catch up on everything that hit the streaming service in March over the coming weeks. Some of those additions are dropping this week, including the third season of the Netflix original horror-comedy Santa Clarita Diet.
As for licensed content, the fifth season of How to Get Away with Murder should turn some heads, but my personal recommendation this week is Tucker and Dale vs. Evil. Also in the horror-comedy genre, this movie manages to turn the entire horror genre on its head while still telling a compelling story with fascinating characters. I never would have watched it based on the trailer alone, but it’s definitely worth an hour and a half of your time.

We think we know exactly when ‘Avengers: Endgame’ tickets will go on sale
There’s no question whatsoever that Avengers: Endgame is the most hotly anticipated movie of the year. In fact, thanks to the incredible cliffhanger that closed Avengers: Infinity War, the new Avengers 4 film may very well be the most eagerly anticipated movie of this decade. Everyone wants to know what our favorite heroes will do now that half of life in the known universe has been snapped away by Thanos, including many of the heroes we’ve been following for years in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It was the most heartbreaking ending we’ve ever seen in a superhero movie, or at least it would have been if we didn’t have a very good idea that the remaining heroes will find a way to undo all those deaths in Endgame. After all, Dr. Strange looked through 14,000,605 futures to find the one sequence of events where the Avengers would emerge victorious. As he was dying, Strange clearly hinted to Tony that he ensured the of Infinity War happened a certain way to ensure their victory.
So Endgame will definitely be the hottest ticket in town next month, which means that there’s a good chance one or all showings in your area during opening weekend are going to sell out. If you want to guarantee yourself a seat on Thursday night, Friday, or at any points during opening weekend, you’ll obviously need to buy tickets during the presale period. But when will tickets for Avengers: Endgame finally go on sale? Thanks to a number of new leaks scattered around the web, we think we now know the exact date and time.

One of the decade’s most successful TV showrunners talks with us about his new NBC comedy
Fourteen years ago this month, a new workplace comedy debuted on NBC that was so quirky and offbeat it gave away no hint at the time about how mega-popular The Office would go on to become. So much so, that the series’ diehard fans have ensured the beloved mockumentary is arguably more popular today as a Netflix favorite than when it was actually on the air, from 2005-2010.
No surprise, then, that so many members of the Office cast, crew and writing staff went on to new creative ventures, from helming and starring in feature films to serving as showrunners for TV series of their own. One of those in the latter category is Mike Schur, who went from writing for The Office — as well as portraying Dwight Schrute’s bearded, taciturn cousin Mose — to so many other successful TV projects that it’s turned him into one of the most successful showrunners of the past decade.

iPhone 11 may finally deliver a long overdue feature
In any given year, it’s not uncommon to see a number of conflicting reports concerning upcoming iPhone features. This, of course, isn’t terribly surprising given that Apple early on in the development cycle will often test various prototype designs with different features. Indeed, this is the reason why, in the build-up to the iPhone X unveiling in 2017, we saw some reports claiming Apple was going to release a device with Touch ID built into the display itself.
With that said, one of the more interesting iPhone 11 rumors we’ve seen pop up over the past few months centers on Apple potentially ditching the tried and true Lightning port for USB-C. More recently, though, credible reports have indicated that while that may happen in the near future, Apple with the iPhone 11 will stick with the Lightning connector.

Apple’s new gaming service might be announced Monday, and it’s reportedly not what we thought
The focus at Apple’s much-anticipated media event set for Monday will be largely on the company’s updated Apple News service as well as its plans for original TV shows offered through a Netflix-like package available exclusively to Apple device owners. We may, however, also get fresh details about the iPhone maker’s planned game subscription bundle, for which new details have emerged over the weekend suggesting that Apple doesn’t intend to use the gaming package as a way to directly compete with rival offerings like Google Stadia.

This is how people decide what to binge-watch next on Netflix and Hulu
Now that the weekend is at hand, for many people it means the resumption of binge watching the TV shows that are stacking up in their Netflix, Hulu and Amazon queues. Or, now that work is done until Monday and you’ve got some free time on your hands, maybe that means instead that it’s time to find something new to stream — a new retro series to get back into on Hulu, perhaps, or maybe a Netflix original to try a bit of to see if you like it.
Nights and weekends are when a lot that activity is taking place and those decisions are being made — and a new survey out from Nielsen reveals some pretty interesting findings that explain, among other things, how most folks decide what content to stream next. The survey is Nielsen’s quarterly MediaTech Trender, and among its findings: Most of us base what we decide to stream next on — surprise! — the shows we already love.
