Google launches AMP for Gmail, making your email feel more like webpages
Google first announced a little more than a year ago that it would eventually be bringing its accelerated mobile pages framework, or AMP for short, to email, which would allow for the creation of richer and more dynamic experiences in a digital realm where people still spend an outsized portion of their day. Today, Google announced the arrival of AMP for Email, officially bringing the capabilities to Gmail that will turn your messages into something that actually resembles an interactive, webpage-like experience.

Xiaomi’s 100W charger could fill up your phone’s battery in less than 20 minutes
As exciting as the latest innovations in smartphone design over the past several months have been, many of the key technologies that power those phones aren’t advancing at quite the same speed. For example, it still takes more than two hours to fully charge the iPhone XS from 0% to 100% with the charger that comes in the package. Even modern “fast charging” technology, while useful, isn’t likely to blow anyone away.
But the dream of fully charging your phone in minutes might not be as distant as it seems. On Tuesday, XDA shared a video originally posted on Weibo by Lu Weibing, head of Xiaomi’s Redmi brand, showing the company’s 100W Super Charge Turbo, which is seemingly capable of fully charging a 4,000 mAh battery in 17 minutes.

The popularity of Apple Music on Android is on the rise
While the cumulative number of Apple Music subscribers still hasn’t managed to outpace Spotify, Apple’s streaming service continues to enjoy impressive growth. Last we heard, Apple Music boasts upwards of 56 million paid subscribers, an impressive figure given that the service isn’t even four years old at this point.
Also impressive is that a growing number of Android users have shown an interest in giving Apple Music a test run. According to recent data from Sensor Tower, the number of Apple Music installs from the Google Play Store during the first quarter of 2019 hit a record-breaking 3.8 million.

‘Avengers: Endgame’ featurette makes us relive the devastation of ‘Infinity War’
“Imagine if, for the first time, our heroes all lost.”
That’s how Robert Downey Jr. sets up the opening of Marvel’s just-released first featurette for Avengers: Endgame — which, while it doesn’t showcase any new footage, does splice together previously seen clips along with interviews from cast members that helps illuminate the stakes for what’s to come. “We lost,” Chris Evans laments about the dire outcome confronting the heroes thanks to the turn of events in Avengers: Infinity War.

NASA’s Curiosity rover spots a bed of Earth-like pebbles
Most of the views of Mars we’ve seen have come from NASA’s trusty rovers, and while they’ve shown us some pretty stunning stuff, you can almost always immediately tell that you’re looking at a photo of Mars when you see one. The sky is almost always a hazy orange, and the landscape looks windswept and devoid of recognizable features.
One of the latest images sent back by the Curiosity rover does away with that by showing us a bed of pebbles that look like they could be sitting along a riverbed right here on Earth.

Nintendo’s new Switch models were inspired by the evolution of the 3DS
Over eight years after taking the world by storm, Nintendo’s 3DS line appears to be winding down. The Switch made the portable console somewhat obsolete, but even as Nintendo leaves the dual-screen device behind, its legacy will reportedly influence the future of the company’s consoles for years to come.
Just a day after The Wall Street Journal reported on Nintendo’s plans to release two new Switch models “as early as this summer,” Eurogamer has chimed in with a report of its own. Sources close to Nintendo have told the publication that Nintendo “is hoping to cater to the same two audiences it eventually evolved 3DS to serve with 2DS and New 3DS XL.” So, a cheaper model for younger fans, and a premium model for “avid [gamers].”

This website keeps track of every product and service that Google has ever killed
We’re still a few months away from the halfway mark of 2019, and already Google has sent some pretty high-profile products to an early grave — products that the company had high initial hopes for, like its Inbox email service and its failed Facebook killer Google+. But this, as we all know, is really par for the course when it comes to the search giant, which has tried so many experiments over the years with products, apps and services that didn’t quite work out as planned that it’s ended up building quite a crowded graveyard of failed ambitions.
Maybe there’s even a few of those that you loved and are still frustrated with Google for killing them.

Galaxy Note 10 rumored to launch in August with no physical buttons
Following the launch of the Galaxy S10 earlier this month, we got a temporary reprieve from the deluge of rumors that had been flooding the internet in the months prior. But as March comes to a close, the rumor mill is beginning to churn again, with the Galaxy Note 10 becoming the subject of an increasing number of rumors and reports.
One such report comes from ETNews, citing industry sources who claim the Note 10 will be “Samsung’s first keyless smartphone.” In other words, it will not have any physical buttons whatsoever — no power button, no volume buttons, and not even a Bixby button. Having already eliminated the notch and most of the bezel with the Infinity-O display of the Galaxy S10, this would take Samsung one step closer to releasing a truly “seamless” phone.
