NASA’s Curiosity rover just witnessed two solar eclipses on Mars
When a solar eclipse is expected here on Earth, it can be a pretty big deal. Back in August of 2017, a total solar eclipse occurred over much of the United States, and people traveled from huge distances just to catch a glimpse of the awe-inspiring sight.
For NASA, sending robots to other planets is a great way to learn more about Earth’s neighbors, but it’s also an opportunity to observe events like eclipses in places where humans have never ventured. In a new blog post, NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory reveals that the Curiosity rover on Mars recently had the opportunity to see not one, but two solar eclipses.

Chris Evans almost spoiled Captain America’s fate in ‘Avengers: Endgame’
The Avengers: Endgame stars, directors, and Marvel chief Kevin Feige all took the stage over the weekend to discuss the upcoming Marvel movie, which will conclude Marvel’s third MCU phase, with Jon Favreau hosting the press conference. Everyone still alive after the events in Infinity War was part of the panel, with the producers cleverly leaving several empty seats for the heroes that died in the previous Avengers film.
You’ll easily recognize Karen Gillan, Paul Rudd, Scarlett Johansson, Kevin Feige, Robert Downey Jr., Don Cheadle, Chris Hemsworth, Danai Gurira, Jeremy Renner, Anthony Russo, Chris Evans, Joe Russo, Brie Larson, and Mark Ruffalo answering to questions from Favreau and fans during the event. SpaceX’s Starhopper completed its first mini-launch ‘hop’
Between tests of its Crew Dragon spacecraft, regular launches for commercial clients, and the impending second launch of the massive Falcon Heavy rocket, SpaceX has a whole lot on its plate these days. Despite all that, it’s still working hard on its Starship program, which will (hopefully) one day result in a spacecraft capable of traveling throughout our solar system and maybe even to neighboring stars.
At present, the Starship itself doesn’t exist, but a small-scale version of it, called the Starhopper, does indeed exist, and it just completed a major milestone. The pint-sized spacecraft performed its first official “hop test,” firing its engines and lifting off its launch pad briefly as powerful tethers kept it from flying skyward.

Samsung is reportedly planning to launch four Galaxy Note 10 models in 2019
Several recent reports claimed that Samsung would be doing the unthinkable with this year’s Galaxy Note 10 series by launching a smaller, more affordable version alongside the regular next-gen big-screen Samsung smartphone flagship. This wouldn’t quite be a first for Samsung though, as the company did launch two distinct Note models a few years ago when it introduced the Note Edge display concept.
A new report from Korea now says that Samsung is ready to double down on that strategy, with plans to reveal up to four Galaxy Note 10 models in stores later this year. That’s something Samsung has never done before, and the Galaxy S10’s sales success is apparently the catalyst behind this decision.
