BlackBerry’s first foray into the world of Android devices comes in the form of the upcoming BlackBerry Priv. Originally introduced in September, the lure of the device will reportedly be a melding of Android with traditional BlackBerry security and productivity features. Now whether or not users will care is another question entirely, but that’s the strategy that BlackBerry has opted to go all-in with.

Now we’ve already seen some official shots of the BlackBerry Priv surface over the past few weeks (see above), but derStandard over the weekend published new photos which provide our closest look yet at the hardware BlackBerry is hoping might keep it from abandoning the smartphone market altogether.

A group of expensive Cisco Network Switches released a few years ago set a new bar for boneheaded industrial design. Sure, it’s pretty frustrating to potentially damage your Galaxy Note 5 by inserting the stylus the wrong way, but it’s monumentally worse to accidentally and completely wipe an entire server by using the wrong type of Ethernet cable.

Every year, National Geographic Magazine holds a photo contest where amateur and professional photographers alike can submit stunning, incredible, and breathtaking shots they managed to capture during the preceding 12-month period. With a grand prize of $10,000 on the line, not to mention a whole lot of prestige, the photo competition is wildly and understandably popular.

During last year’s contest, for example, National Geographic fielded more than 92,000 photographs from over 150 countries around the world. And just like last year, this year’s competition will encompass three categories for submission: people, places and nature.

The deadline to enter is November 16, 2015, but photographers have already begun sending in their best shots for consideration. To help give us a taste of what’s to come, National Geographic recently gave The Atlantic permission to publish 24 jaw-dropping photos that promise to be strong contenders even as more entries are sure to come in.

Below are a few of the more notable shots.

Elon Musk backtracks on negative comments about Apple

%name Elon Musk backtracks on negative comments about Apple by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Tesla CEO Elon Musk took to Twitter on Friday to backtrack on a few anti-Apple statements he made earlier in the week to a German business magazine. Musk, if you recall, said that Apple only hires the engineers that Tesla fires. “If you don’t make it at Tesla,” Musk flatly stated, “you go work at Apple. I’m not kidding.”

Driving the point home, Musk said that he and others at Tesla jokingly refer to Apple as the Tesla Graveyard.

Shots fired? Or was Musk, perhaps, just blindly firing from the hip and making a few outlandish statements? Regardless, the outspoken CEO attempted to diminish the sting of his aforementioned comments by tweeting that he does not, in fact, hate Apple and that he’s actually glad that they’re entering the electric vehicle market.
