YOU NEED TO KNOW THIS: How to see which apps are hogging all the storage on your iPhone or iPad

While iOS 8 is probably the most substantial update Apple’s mobile software platform has ever received, adoption has been shockingly slow compared to earlier iOS updates. It makes sense that people might not be quite as quick to update to iOS 8 as they were with iOS 7, which introduced an exciting new look for iOS. But the gap has been fairly significant, and most people seem to agree that the explanation for the slower adoption rate is fairly simple: People just don’t have enough free space on their devices to download and install iOS 8 or iOS 8.1 over the air.

Connecting to iTunes to perform the update is one possibility, but many people have never connected their iPhones and iPads to a computer and don’t want to start now. If you fall into that category, here’s the best thing you can to free up space and update your smartphone or tablet.

Even though Google is dabbling in plenty of interesting new areas such as robotics, health and many others, the company’s main revenue source is still advertising. The company shows you a variety of ads on its many online properties, including Search, YouTube, Gmail, Maps and more. But in order to make more money, it tries to show you ads that are relevant to you based on your browsing habits. Or in other words, it can charge companies more to display their ads online to an audience that’s more likely to become their customers.

Google’s new Android 5.0 update could be the most hotly anticipated Android update yet. Similar to iOS 7 last year, Google’s Lollipop update for Android features an exciting redesign that people can’t wait to get their hands on. While Android 5.0’s user interface overhaul isn’t quite as extensive as Apple’s iOS 7 update in 2013, the new look of Material Design is beautiful and it truly modernizes Google’s mobile platform.

Unfortunately, Android users who have gotten the update already have to deal with what appears to be a fairly serious and annoying bug.

Senator Ted Cruz last week caused quite a stir — and a lot of forehead slapping — when he described net neutrality as “Obamacare for the Internet.” CNN’s Candy Crowley on Sunday sat down with Cruz’s fellow senator Al Franken, a longtime net neutrality advocate who completely demolished Cruz’s arguments against net neutrality for being “completely wrong.”
