Okay, while we certainly can’t condone street racing, we also don’t encourage any type of road raging vigilante justice like this rock throwing Lamborghini Aventador incident caught on camera on the streets of Playa Vista, California.

We can only speculate on what caused this Lambo to be stoned, but based on what we see, the angry rock throwing man (shown above) clearly had enough of the $400,000+ supercar and it’s owner driving around, as he yells “Keep racing,” while pelting the exotic with rocks.

Click here to watch the video for yourself and judge who’s the bigger jerk. Either way, this isn’t a safe or smart way to react. Even if the Lamborghini was driving recklessly, call the police instead and let the law sort it out.

Has the 2015 Ford Mustang gained hundreds of pounds?

steeda mustang Has the 2015 Ford Mustang gained hundreds of pounds? by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Automakers face competing interests when it comes to developing a new generation of vehicle. On the one hand, companies want to build their cars to be safer and better handling, with more equipment and maybe even larger dimensions over the model it’s replacing. On the other hand, they strive to keep weight down to the benefit of both performance and fuel consumption. Usually something has to give, and in the case of the new 2015 Ford Mustang, those efforts may have resulted in a weight penalty of two or three hundred pounds.

This according to Blue Oval modifier Steeda Autosports, which states that “the 2015 Mustang ended up gaining 200-300 pounds in this remake”. Despite the Mustang not being on the market yet, it would appear the leading Ford aftermarketer has been given early access to the 2015 model to help jumpstart its tuning efforts (a rather common development among trusted tuners). If Steeda’s assertion is accurate, that would make the challenge of getting the new pony car up to speed for both Ford and aftermarket customizers like Steeda that much greater.

We’re waiting for official word from Ford on the veracity of Steeda’s claim, but if true, it’s bound to be a bit of disappointing news for legions of Blue Oval performance enthusiasts. Watch this space for more.

Are you a new Ford Mustang SVO? [w/video]

001 ford mustang svo spy shots 628opt Are you a new Ford Mustang SVO? [w/video] by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

When Ford announced that its 2015 Mustang would arrive with a 2.3-litre EcoBoost four-cylinder engine, three letters came to mind: SVO. While Ford hasn’t said a word regarding the rebirth of a Mustang SVO model, this latest set of spy shots shows us something very, very interesting. Allow us to explain.

The Mustang prototype in these photos looks very similar to the GT500 test cars we’ve spotted before – same bulging hood, aggressive front fascia and air vents aft of the front wheels. What’s different, however, is around back. Have a look at the exhaust, and note that instead of the GT500’s usual quad pipes, two of the exhaust outlets have been capped off.

Our spies point out that these exhaust outlets could be closed for some sort of emissions testing or another engineering reason, but it’s also important to note that the engine and exhaust notes of this car sound completely different from earlier GT500 prototypes. We’ve got a video below that compares the two.

Of course, all of this is high speculation right now, but the exhaust differences and new sound indeed have our interest piqued. Click below to watch (and listen) in the video, and then tell us what you think is going on here, in Comments.

The Canadian Sport Compact Series (CSCS) is Canada’s biggest series for Time Attack, Drifting, Show and Shine, and Drag Racing, all rolled into one event.

Each year, CSCS brings out some of the fastest competition cars in Canada (there are even a few American entries, including Innovative Tuning’s championship holding Voltron Subaru Impreza Time Attack car), while remaining true to their roots and offering up a FWD, RWD Street class, along with the Unlimited classes.

The Street class encourages any skill level driver (take that with a grain of salt, you’re expected to have some track day experience, but not required) with close to factory stock cars to bring their car out to the track to have fun, push their limits, and most importantly, compete safely in a controlled environment. The Unlimited and Street classes are heating up more and more with each passing year.

Although it’s safe to say most wealthy people have pretty good lives, it seems there are a few automakers that want to make sure they’re never, ever inconvenienced! So they offer lots of pricey options and luxurious over the top features to make sure those who buy expensive cars have back massagers, scented air systems, neck / ear warmers and even foot rests at the touch of a button while speeding down the road.

Here’s a test to determine if you’re ultra-wealthy or just a regular old Joe. What do you do if, on a sunny but cold day, you really want to drive your convertible?

  • A. Realize you can’t bend the world to your desires, and drive the convertible, but with the roof up.

First 500 European 2015 Ford Mustangs get reserved in 30 seconds [w/video]

2015 ford mustang europe First 500 European 2015 Ford Mustangs get reserved in 30 seconds [w/video] by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

We’re pretty sure that any initial concerns Ford had about selling the redesigned Mustang in Europe have been lessened considerably, after the first 500 Euro-spec 2015 Mustangs were been reserved in just 30 seconds. Moreover, 9,300 people attempted to snag one of the coveted orders for the all-new muscle car. Yes, Mustang, you should do quite well across the pond.

The registration event was held during the UEFA (pronounced yu-eh-fa) Champions League Final between Real Madrid and Atlético Madrid.

“We knew there was huge excitement building for the new Ford Mustang coming to Europe, but the response during the UCL Final was overwhelming,” said Roelant de Waard, VP of marketing, sales and service for Ford’s European outfit. “It was a truly special way to kick off the Ford Mustang era in Europe.”

Customers who successfully reserved a slot haven’t been notified just yet – that will come in the next few weeks – although we do know that the 500 cars were available to drivers in 20 different European countries. The specs, though, were limited.

Hardtop fans are limited to Race Red, while Convertible drivers will get Magnetic Silver – the 2015 Mustang’s launch colours. Despite the lack of a choice on colour, owners will be able to choose between the Mustang’s two European engines, the 2.3-litre, turbocharged four-cylinder and the brawny, 5.0-litre V8. The initial run of cars will include MyFord Touch with Sync and navigation, black leather seats with heating and ventilation functions, park assist and 19-inch wheels. It’s unclear how much these launch cars will cost European consumers.

Ford, which is the official vehicle supplier for the Champions League, promoted its registration event with a series of videos, depicting the Mustang in front of major landmarks from London, Paris, Berlin and Rome, as well as a final video showing the Mustang inside Estádio da Luz in Lisbon, where the final match was played.

Take a look below for the official press release from Ford, as well as the promotional videos for the Mustang registration, which we’ve embedded for your viewing pleasure.

Here at Autoblog Canada we’re usually a pretty patriotic bunch, but when it comes to this list of top 10 awesome cars we simply can’t have in Canada, it looks like a case can be built for switching citizenship or at least signing up for some sort of foreign exchange program.

Don’t get us wrong, we still get our fair share of fun to drive performance cars that aren’t sold overseas either, but euro-spec models and hot hatchbacks like the Audi RS4 Avant, BMW M 135i three-door and Volkswagen Scirocco R (pictured above) are sadly the stuff many Canadian enthusiasts can only dream of buying.

While living in Canada has a lengthy list of benefits and very we’re proud to call it home, one can’t help but feel short changed at the thought of forbidden automotive fruit we’ll never be able to buy on Canadian soil.

Click here to countdown the list of top 10 best cars you can’t get in Canada.

Radical RXC is a Mustang-hearted racecar for the road

Radical RXC Video Radical RXC is a Mustang hearted racecar for the road by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Filed under:

Radical has been building fantastic open-cockpit racers and roadcars for years, for the track day enthusiast who wants a vehicle that looks like it could show up for a start at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The company’s latest creation is the RXC, and while this coupe looks like a prototype racer, it’s road legal in the UK and in some parts of the US. When testing a car this, um, radical, the first thought is likely to get it to the track for some big slides and wide open acceleration, but XCar Films takes the opposite approach in its latest video to learn how this racer fares on public roads.

The version tested here is the standard RXC with the 3.7-liter V6 out of the Ford Mustang tuned to 350 horsepower with a seven-speed sequential gearbox; but Radical also offers the same engine with 380-hp, a 454-hp Ford EcoBoost 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6, or even a 500-hp V8. Even in the most basic guise, it’s a handful to control in the wet, if this video is any indication. The cliché of a road-legal racecar is bandied around a lot in the motoring world, but it truly applies to the RXC.

The only problem with seeing the RXC exclusively on the road is that it can never really open up and show its full potential. This racer is indeed chomping at the bit to rocket off into the horizon, but all those pesky road safety laws hold it back. Still, the video is a chance to get a better impression about this thoroughbred sports car. Scroll down to check it out.
