AdBlock Plus accused of paying off other ad blockers to let some ads through

The new ad blocker support Apple introduced in its mobile Safari web browser in iOS 9 is causing quite a stir. Publishers are up in arms, worried that users will adopt mobile ad blockers en masse and poke huge holes in their revenue streams. Meanwhile, just one day after Apple released iOS 9 to the public on Wednesday, several ad blocker plug-ins have indeed shot up the charts in Apple’s iOS App Store.

Regardless of which side of the debate you stand on, there’s one thing we can probably all agree on: What AdBlock Plus is doing — if, and only if recent accusations turn out to be true — is both unethical and deplorable.

Android fanboys bomb Apple’s ‘Move to iOS’ Android app with one-star reviews

Earlier this week, Apple released an Android app whose sole purpose is to help Android users switch to iOS. Within hours of its release, loyal Android fanboys formed their own version of the Night’s Watch and bravely went to defend the wall against the wicked Apple invasion. As you can imagine, Move to iOS has been getting bombed with one-star reviews on the Google Play Store and Android fans have listed a plethora of grievances against it. Let’s check them out below!

iPhone Upgrade Program may be a goldmine for Apple

Amidst a flurry of new product announcements, Apple last week introduced a new iPhone Upgrade Program that allows users to pay for a new device over the course of 24 months for as little as $32/month. Though not the cheapest program around, Apple’s program does come with AppleCare+ which, depending on your perspective, might make it rather enticing.

The underlying appeal of Apple’s iPhone upgrade program is that once a user makes 12 monthly payments, they become eligible to purchase a new iPhone and start a new two-year repayment plan.
